A year after the devastating earthquake that left nearly 90,000 people dead or missing,let’s check out how the quake victims are doing today—all is the synonymous with courage and determination.
Each time Tan Guoqiang raises his eyes on the picture hanging on the wall of his office,the principal sees the beaming faces of his 437pupils and teachers.-Fewer than half of those people are alive now.
The May 12 earthquake in Sichuan province last year destroyed Yingxiu primary school,located in the quake epicenter of Wenchuan county,killing more than 200pupils and teachers.
Across the road from the original site of the school stands a stretch of prefabricated houses,along with a heap of ruin,which serve as temporary classrooms for the 165pupils who survived the disaster.
The surviviors gather for morning assembly every Monday,their backs to the debris of their former school..
After Yingxiu primary school reopened on its temporary site on Aug 27th last year,classes have steadily continued,The familiar sounds of a classroom-pupils reading aloud from their textbooks,desks and chairs shuffling,teachers writing on blackboards-can be heard throughout the grounds.
Pupils and teachers constantely try to put painful memories of the quake behind them and open a new but different charpter in their lives.
On April 28,Wu Jingyi,8,received sets of her new school uniform from the headmaster,Jingyi herself was trapped in the collasped building of the school for two days,Rescuers had to amputate her left leg at the calf to save her from the rubble,and she soon was sent to the provincial capital to recover and pratice using her artifical limb.The girl plans to return to her school next year.Jingyi herself still jolts from the nightmare of being buried in the debris of her old school.
“We have made progress in the rebuilding of the hardware,but the future of our pupils is pressing more concern for us”Tan said.”The authorities in charge of the school’s reconstruction have already promised a new building for it and construction would begin once the details are finalized.”
Over the past few months,the school has received donations worth 1million yuan,which have allowed the students access to IT rooms and scholarships.
Still,Tan said his school,with all its temporary classrooms,lacks adequate facilities for those disabled students,His teachers have also received only minimal training in psychological counselling.
Preparing to help his teachers cope with the difficult period of reconstruction is another challenge for Tan,Seventy-five percent of the school’s teachers lost their loved ones in the disaster,Saddled with mortgages and bills,most of them now have little to call their own.Saddled with mortgages and bills,most of them now have little to call their own.
Every day,when Yingxiu’s teacher walk out of their temporary school,a public cemetery for quake victims 300m away from the classrooms also reminds them of the disater.
But so far,none of the teachers have asked to quit.The disaster has made them stronger!

Ghost Whisperer is an American television series created by John Gray. It first premiered on CBS on September 23, 2005.Currently in its fourth season, the show was renewed for a fifth season consisting of 24 episodes, which are expected to begin airing in September.The series follows the life of Melinda Gordon, a young woman from Grandview, New York, who has the ability to see and communicate with the dead. Melinda lives with her husband Jim, and is the owner of an antique shop. Ghosts seek Melinda's help in relaying a message or completing a task that will put the spirit to rest, and allow them to "cross over" into The Light, a metaphor presented by the show as its conception of Heaven.
The series received generally negative reviews from most mainstream critics when it began broadcasting, but was extremely well received among viewers. Ghost Whisperer currently airs Friday nights at 8/7central on CBS. The show is produced by Sander/Moses Productions, in association with ABC Studios and CBS Paramount Network Television
Ghost Whisperer is based on the work of "Spirit Communicator" James Van Praagh,who is co-executive producer and constantly updates a blog about the show through CBS.The stories are also said to be based in part on the work of "Spirit Communicator" Mary Ann Winkowski.Development of the show dates back to at least two years before its premiere.
The show is currently produced by Sander/Moses Productions in association with CBS Paramount Network Television (originally CBS Productions in season one) and ABC Studios (originally Touchstone Television in the first two seasons).
The show is filmed on the Universal Studios back lot in Hollywood.One area on the lot is Courthouse Square from the Back to the Future trilogy, though it has been drastically modified to portray Grandview. For example, the clock tower present in Back to the Future has been completely covered up. Cast and crew members also believe that the set gets visits from real spirits.
Sound effects are completed at Smart Post Sound. Visual effects for the pilot and some season 1 episodes were completed at Flash Film Works. Visual effects for nearly the entire series have been created at Eden FX.

The X-Files is an American science fiction television series, created by Chris Carter, which first aired in 1993 and ended in 2002. Nip/Tuck is an American medical drama created by Ryan Murphy and broadcast on FX Networks, following the daily routine of Florida based plastic surgeons Sean McNamara and Christian Troy, played by Dylan Walsh and Julian McMahon, respectively.

In its debut season, Nip/Tuck was the highest-rated new series on American basic cable, and the highest rated basic cable series of all time for the 18-49 and 25-54 age demographics. Based on a Richard Hooker novel of the same name, MASH was released in 1970 as a full-length feature film by 20th Century Fox before experiencing widespread success as a groundbreaking television sitcom in the Fall of 1972. The show's brilliant integration of drama and comedy made it one of the most celebrated shows in TV history, culminating in an eleven year prime time series stint. The 1983 series finale of MASH made history as the program with the single largest audience in television history, beating out several SuperBowls and the fabled "Who Shot J.R." episode of Dallas. With the proliferation of new television mediums, it's a record likely to never be broken...
The sitcom is set in South Korea during American involvement in the Korea War (with MAS*H standing for "Mobile Army Surgical Hospital"). Buffered from the front lines by a mountain range and a minefield, the men and women of MASH were tasked with patching up wounded American soldiers. Unique to its genre, the cast of MASH was unusually large. Surgeons Dr. Benjamin Pierce (Alan Alda) and Dr. "Trapper" John McIntyre (Wayne Rogers) play the roles of excellent doctors who enjoy women and booze, while Dr. Frank Burns (Larry Linville) and Nurse Practitioner Margaret "Hot Lips" Houlihan (Loretta Swit) play foil to the two men's shenanigans (due to a contract dispute, Rogers' character was later replaced by Dr. B.J. Hunnicutt - played by Mike Farrell). The character of Frank Burns was also later replaced by Dr. Charles Emerson Winchester (David Ogden Stiers)...
Corporal Max Klinger (Jamie Farr) provides comic relief with his early attempts to procure a discharge by dressing in women's clothing, and Father Francis Mulcahy (William Christopher) adds flavor to a diverse cast of characters. Also rounding out the cast are Lt. Col. Henry Blake (McLean Stevenson).
Corporal Walter "Radar" O'Reilly (Gary Burghoff), and Col. Sherman Potter (Harry Morgan)... The MASH DVD offers a number of hilarious episodes including the series premiere in which Hawkeye Pierce and Trapper John McIntyre learn that their houseboy, Ho-John, got accepted to Hawkeye's alma mater. In order to raise money for Ho-John's trip to the United States, the two auction off a weekend pass to Tokyo with Nurse Dish and celebrate the college acceptance with a lavish party... Other notable episodes from Season 1 include "The Moose" in which a GI arrives at camp with a Korean female slave he purchased, and "Cease-Fire" in which the MASH camp prematurely celebrates a purported cease-fire which never takes place...

America's Funniest Home Videos (often simply abbreviated to AFV, though it was previously AFHV), is an American reality television program on ABC in which viewers are able to send in humorous homemade videotapes. The most common videos usually feature slapstick physical comedy arising from accidents and mishaps. Other popular videos include humorous situations involving pets or children, while some are staged practical jokes. The show is based on the Japanese show Fun TV with Kato-chan and Ken-chan (aired on Tokyo Broadcasting System).
It was announced on April 23, 2009 that AFV had been renewed for its 20th season.
For autumn 2008, AFV commands an average cost of $90,044 for a 30-second commercial, according to an Advertising Age survey of media-buying firms.
Produced by Vin Di Bona (with co-executive producers Todd Thicke and Michele Nasraway, it is currently the second longest-running entertainment program on ABC. It is based on the Tokyo Broadcasting System show Fun TV with Kato-chan and Ken-chan, which featured a segment in which viewers were invited to send in video clips from their home movies. The format has since been reproduced around the world, and AFHV-inspired TV specials and series continue to emerge periodically in the United States. The episodes are rated TV-PG or TV-14
Every week, three videos are chosen by the producers and voted on by the studio audience. The winner wins US$10,000, and is in the running for the $100,000 prize at the end of the season, while the runner-up receives $3,000, and third place banks $2,000. Very early in the show's run, the second and third prizes were a new TV and a new VCR, respectively. On the initial hour-long special, the grand prize was $5,000 with second and third places winning a new camcorder; the producer picked the winner, with no audience voting.
Beginning about the middle of the first season, the show featured the "Assignment America" segment; which called for a series of videos to be made pertaining to a specific theme. Also, Saget's era produced a memorable segment called "Freeze Frame" which was a montage of videos with the song "Freeze Frame" played by The J. Geils Band. The show was so successful in its first year that in 1990 it spawned a spin-off entitled America's Funniest People.

Adrian Monk was a brilliant detective for the San Francisco Police Department until his wife, Trudy, was killed by a car bomb in a parking garage, which Monk believed was intended for him. Trudy's death led Monk to suffer a nervous breakdown and he was discharged from the force, becoming a recluse, refusing to leave his house for over three years. With the help of his nurse, Sharona Fleming (Bitty Schram), he was finally able to leave the house. The breakthrough allowed him to work as a private detective and a consultant for the homicide unit despite retaining limitations rooted in his obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD), which had grown significantly worse after the tragedy.
Monk's compulsive habits are numerous, and a number of phobias compound his situation, such as his fear of germs. The OCD and plethora of phobias inevitably lead to very awkward situations and cause problems for Monk, and anyone around him, as he investigates cases. However, these same personal struggles, particularly the OCD, are what aid him in solving cases.
Captain Leland Stottlemeyer (Ted Levine) and Lieutenant Randall "Randy" Disher (Jason Gray-Stanford) call on Monk when they have trouble with an investigation. Stottlemeyer is often irritated by Monk's disorder, but respects his friend and former colleague's amazing observational abilities, as does Disher. Ever since childhood, Monk's obsessive attention to detail allowed him to spot tiny discrepancies, find patterns, and make connections that others often fail to make. Monk continues to search for information about his wife's death, the one case he has been unable to solve.
When Sharona decided to re-marry her ex-husband and move back to New Jersey, Natalie Teeger (Traylor Howard), a widow and mother of an eleven-year-old daughter, was hired as Monk's new assistant. Monk has a brother, Ambrose, and a half-brother, Jack Jr. (Steve Zahn), the existence of whom Monk discovers in the fifth season.

The Shield is an American television drama series which aired on FX Networks in the U.S. and other networks internationally. Known for its controversial portrayal of corrupt police officers, it was originally advertised as "Rampart" in reference to the true life Rampart Division police scandal, which the show's Strike Team was loosely based upon. Project Runway is a Peabody Award-winning American reality television series on the Bravo network which focuses on fashion design and is hosted by supermodel Heidi Klum. The contestants compete with each other to create the best clothes and are usually restricted in time, materials, and theme. Their designs are judged and one or more designers are eliminated each week.
On April 7, 2008, the show's producers, Weinstein Company, announced a five-year deal that would relocate the show to Lifetime Television, beginning with Season 6. In response, NBC Universal filed a lawsuit against the Weinstein Company for violating its contract rights.A September 2008 court decision granted NBCU's request for an injunction, preventing Lifetime from promoting or exhibiting "Runway" until further notice.
On April 1, 2009, the lawsuit between Weinstein Co. and NBC Universal was settled, with Weinstein agreeing to pay NBC an undisclosed sum for the right to move the show to Lifetime The already-filmed Season 6 will air on Lifetime in the summer of 2009.
The show takes place in New York City (with a short stop in Paris in Season 3) with designers using a workroom at Parsons The New School for Design. They shop for materials at a fabric store in New York's Garment District (usually at MOOD Designer Fabrics) — unless the challenge requires otherwise (e.g. denim jackets and jeans from Levi's, confectionery and souvenirs at the Hershey's Store in Times Square, or fabric at Spandex House in Season 4). Project Runway is a Peabody Award-winning American reality television series on the Bravo network which focuses on fashion design and is hosted by supermodel Heidi Klum. The contestants compete with each other to create the best clothes and are usually restricted in time, materials, and theme. Their designs are judged and one or more designers are eliminated each week.
On April 7, 2008, the show's producers, Weinstein Company, announced a five-year deal that would relocate the show to Lifetime Television, beginning with Season 6. In response, NBC Universal filed a lawsuit against the Weinstein Company for violating its contract rights.A September 2008 court decision granted NBCU's request for an injunction, preventing Lifetime from promoting or exhibiting "Runway" until further notice.
On April 1, 2009, the lawsuit between Weinstein Co. and NBC Universal was settled, with Weinstein agreeing to pay NBC an undisclosed sum for the right to move the show to Lifetime The already-filmed Season 6 will air on Lifetime in the summer of 2009.
The show takes place in New York City (with a short stop in Paris in Season 3) with designers using a workroom at Parsons The New School for Design. They shop for materials at a fabric store in New York's Garment District (usually at MOOD Designer Fabrics) — unless the challenge requires otherwise (e.g. denim jackets and jeans from Levi's, confectionery and souvenirs at the Hershey's Store in Times Square, or fabric at Spandex House in Season 4). Curb Your Enthusiasm is an American comedy series starring Seinfeld writer, co-creator, and executive producer Larry David as himself,(visit DVDSZONE) and produced and broadcast by HBO. The series was inspired by a 1999 one-hour mockumentary titled Larry David: Curb Your Enthusiasm, which David and HBO originally envisioned as a one-time project. The show stars Larry David as a fictional version of himself, accompanied by fictional re-creations of his real friends, usually played by themselves. Ted Danson, Mary Steenburgen, Wanda Sykes, and Richard Lewis have all had recurring roles as characters based on themselves.
The show is set in Santa Monica, David's real place of residence. As his character, David is notoriously unliked by the residents of Santa Monica for his outlandish behavior, inappropriate remarks, and self-centered attitude. David often expresses sentiments of being misunderstood rather than rude. A frequently recurring line of his, usually spoken after such a misunderstanding, is "You can't even leave your house anymore," in reference to his frequent altercations with friends and acquaintances.
Most episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm follow an unusual plot structure. Each episode typically involves David becoming involved in a situation beyond his control, which he then perpetuates with his intellectually narcissistic and inept behavior. His actions, intentional or not, tend to be put back on him in related situations later in the episode. An example of this type of story can be found in episode nine of season one, in which David accidentally tries to bribe a maitre d' with a prescription that he mistook for a twenty-dollar-bill. This later leads to David being forced to root through the restaurant's dumpster in search of the prescription, which his wife needs in order to obtain medication for a rash.

Most episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm follow an unusual plot structure. Each episode typically involves David becoming involved in a situation beyond his control, which he then perpetuates with his intellectually narcissistic and inept behavior. His actions, intentional or not, tend to be put back on him in related situations later in the episode. An example of this type of story can be found in episode nine of season one, in which David accidentally tries to bribe a maitre d' with a prescription that he mistook for a twenty-dollar-bill. This later leads to David being forced to root through the restaurant's dumpster in search of the prescription, which his wife needs in order to obtain medication for a rash.

American Dad! is a satirical American animated series owned by Underdog Productions and Fuzzy Door Productions and produced in association with 20th Century Fox Television.
It was created by Seth MacFarlane, the creator of Family Guy, as well as two former Family Guy writers, Mike Barker and Matt Weitzman. The basic character structure is similar in both shows: a family consisting of a husband, wife, daughter, son and two "off" characters. However, American Dad differs from Family Guy by using almost no Cutaway Gags. On a typical Sunday, American Dad! has slightly more than half the viewers and share of the The Simpsons and Family Guy episodes that follow it on Fox.
