The show debuted on July 12, 2002, on the USA Network; its seventh season started July 18, 2008, and it has been renewed for an eighth and final season. Adrian Monk was a brilliant detective for the San Francisco Police Department until his wife, Trudy, was killed by a car bomb in a parking garage, which Monk believed was intended for him. Trudy's death led Monk to suffer a nervous breakdown and he was discharged from the force, becoming a recluse, refusing to leave his house for over three years. With the help of his nurse, Sharona Fleming (Bitty Schram), he was finally able to leave the house. The breakthrough allowed him to work as a private detective and a consultant for the homicide unit despite retaining limitations rooted in his obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD), which had grown significantly worse after the tragedy.
Monk's compulsive habits are numerous, and a number of phobias compound his situation, such as his fear of germs. The OCD and plethora of phobias inevitably lead to very awkward situations and cause problems for Monk, and anyone around him, as he investigates cases. However, these same personal struggles, particularly the OCD, are what aid him in solving cases.
Captain Leland Stottlemeyer (Ted Levine) and Lieutenant Randall "Randy" Disher (Jason Gray-Stanford) call on Monk when they have trouble with an investigation. Stottlemeyer is often irritated by Monk's disorder, but respects his friend and former colleague's amazing observational abilities, as does Disher. Ever since childhood, Monk's obsessive attention to detail allowed him to spot tiny discrepancies, find patterns, and make connections that others often fail to make. Monk continues to search for information about his wife's death, the one case he has been unable to solve.
When Sharona decided to re-marry her ex-husband and move back to New Jersey, Natalie Teeger (Traylor Howard), a widow and mother of an eleven-year-old daughter, was hired as Monk's new assistant. Monk has a brother, Ambrose, and a half-brother, Jack Jr. (Steve Zahn), the existence of whom Monk discovers in the fifth season.

The Shield is an American television drama series which aired on FX Networks in the U.S. and other networks internationally. Michael Chiklis has top billing with his portrayal of Strike Team leader Vic Mackey. The show has an ensemble cast that will normally run a number of separate story lines through each episode.

Project Runway is a Peabody Award-winning American reality television series on the Bravo network which focuses on fashion design and is hosted by supermodel Heidi Klum. The contestants compete with each other to create the best clothes and are usually restricted in time, materials, and theme. Their designs are judged and one or more designers are eliminated each week.
On April 7, 2008, the show's producers, Weinstein Company, announced a five-year deal that would relocate the show to Lifetime Television, beginning with Season 6. In response, NBC Universal filed a lawsuit against the Weinstein Company for violating its contract rights.A September 2008 court decision granted NBCU's request for an injunction, preventing Lifetime from promoting or exhibiting "Runway" until further notice.
On April 1, 2009, the lawsuit between Weinstein Co. and NBC Universal was settled, with Weinstein agreeing to pay NBC an undisclosed sum for the right to move the show to Lifetime The already-filmed Season 6 will air on Lifetime in the summer of 2009.
The show takes place in New York City (with a short stop in Paris in Season 3) with designers using a workroom at Parsons The New School for Design. They shop for materials at a fabric store in New York's Garment District (usually at MOOD Designer Fabrics) — unless the challenge requires otherwise (e.g. denim jackets and jeans from Levi's, confectionery and souvenirs at the Hershey's Store in Times Square, or fabric at Spandex House in Season 4). The designers are sequestered by grouped genders together at Atlas New York (an apartment building near Parsons) during Seasons 1-3 (back again at Season 5) and at New Gotham during Season 4. While on the show, the designers are prohibited from leaving the apartments without authorization, making unauthorized communication with family or friends, or using the Internet to research designs. Designers are also forbidden to bring pattern books or similar how-to books with them during the show, or risk being disqualified from the competition (as was the case of Keith Michael in Season 3).

The show stars Larry David as a fictional version of himself, accompanied by fictional re-creations of his real friends, usually played by themselves. Ted Danson, Mary Steenburgen, Wanda Sykes, and Richard Lewis have all had recurring roles as characters based on themselves.
The show is set in Santa Monica, David's real place of residence. As his character, David is notoriously unliked by the residents of Santa Monica for his outlandish behavior, inappropriate remarks, and self-centered attitude. David often expresses sentiments of being misunderstood rather than rude. A frequently recurring line of his, usually spoken after such a misunderstanding, is "You can't even leave your house anymore," in reference to his frequent altercations with friends and acquaintances.
Most episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm follow an unusual plot structure. Each episode typically involves David becoming involved in a situation beyond his control, which he then perpetuates with his intellectually narcissistic and inept behavior. His actions, intentional or not, tend to be put back on him in related situations later in the episode. An example of this type of story can be found in episode nine of season one, in which David accidentally tries to bribe a maitre d' with a prescription that he mistook for a twenty-dollar-bill. This later leads to David being forced to root through the restaurant's dumpster in search of the prescription, which his wife needs in order to obtain medication for a rash.

American Dad! is a satirical American animated series owned by Underdog Productions and Fuzzy Door Productions and produced in association with 20th Century Fox Television.
It was created by Seth MacFarlane, the creator of Family Guy, as well as two former Family Guy writers, Mike Barker and Matt Weitzman. It was created by Seth MacFarlane, the creator of Family Guy, as well as two former Family Guy writers, Mike Barker and Matt Weitzman. The basic character structure is similar in both shows: a family consisting of a husband, wife, daughter, son and two "off" characters. However, American Dad differs from Family Guy by using almost no Cutaway Gags. The pilot episode aired in the United States on Fox on February 6, 2005, thirty minutes after the end of Super Bowl XXXIX; the regular series began May 1, 2005, after the season premiere of Family Guy. American Dad! follows the events of CIA agent Stan Smith and his family.
While the show has succeeded in being renewed for a fifth season, it has not matched Family Guy or The Simpsons in ratings success. On a typical Sunday, American Dad! has slightly more than half the viewers and share of the The Simpsons and Family Guy episodes that follow it on Fox. Its ratings are typically similar to or slightly lower than the King of the Hill episode that precedes it.For the week ending on April 12, 2009, it was Fox's least viewed primetime program.
